Ocular Network Exchange (ONE) is available to EBAA members-only and is an online tissue exchange platform where eye banks can post their surplus tissue. Those in need can find an ideal cornea for a surgeon. Each posted tissue includes donor age, DOD, D-P, cell count and clear zone, plus a scan of the tissue report form – everything required to decide whether it is suitable for a specific need or to offer it to a certain surgeon. Tissues can be requested through the platform, and transfers agreed upon within minutes.
ONE is not a shopping service, so physicians and their staff are not included. It’s also not a commerce site; all discussions of tissue fees or other transactions are conducted offline. But it is the ideal spot to request or place sight-restoring corneal tissue.
