This event highlights the latest scientific and research developments in cornea and eye banking and innovations that are on the horizon. Abstract submission and registration are open!
The event features:
- Two Invited Panel Discussions
- Presentation of over 25 scientific abstracts
- The Paton Award Lecture
- The Troutman Prize Lecture
- The Paton Luncheon: A Moderated Clinical Discussion

Abstract Submission
We are currently accepting abstract submissions. The program chairs encourage abstracts highlighting new procedures and therapies; scientific discoveries and innovation in cornea and eye banking; research on the preservation, preparation, processing and transplantation of corneal tissue; and any new data that would be of interest to the cornea and eye banking communities. A Best Paper of Session Award is awarded to one medical student, resident or cornea fellow, for the presentation.

Travel Grant
The travel grant provides for an individual currently in training to attend and present at the Cornea and Eye Banking Forum. Supported by Gunther Weiss Scientific Glass Blowing Co, Inc., the award is open to individuals who submit an abstract for presentation consideration at the Forum and are currently in Medical School, a Residency Program, or a Cornea Fellowship program. The award recipient will be notified when the abstract selections have been made and the speakers have been notified of their acceptance into the program.

Accreditation Statement
In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by Amedco LLC, Cornea Society and Eye Bank Association of America. Amedco LLC is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. This activity has been approved for AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM.
Run for Vision
Live 5K Event
If you are attending the AAO conference in San Francisco, join us for this time-honored tradition of running with your fellow conference goers. The 5k will take place on Sunday, November 5th at 6:30am. We will provide shuttle transportation from select AAO meeting hotels to/from the race site.
Virtual 5K Event
If you can’t join us in person, you can join us in spirit while running in your own community. Simply complete a 5K run any time between October 20 – November 30, and submit your time to this website. Once you’ve registered, you don’t need to submit a time, or even get off the couch; we’ll just mail the shirt directly to your home.
Run as a Team
To encourage you to run as part of a team, we will take 30% off the registration fee for all teams of three or more.

The mission of the Eye Bank Association of America (EBAA) is to restore sight worldwide. Cornea Society
The Cornea Society was founded in 1975 in recognition of the contributions of its namesake, Ramon Castroviejo, MD, a consummate educator and pioneer in corneal transplantation. The Society has fostered the exchange of information through scientific meetings and a quality scientific journal and newsletter. It thrives today as an international organization dedicated to the advancement of knowledge about the cornea and serves as the collective voice of corneal specialists globally and with governmental agencies domestically.
