Candidate Bio
Adam H. Kaufman, MD, FACS, has served as Secretary-Treasurer of the EBAA Board and Chair of the Finance Committee since 2024. He has been a member of the EBAA for over 30 years. He has served on multiple EBAA committees including the Position and Policy Sub-Committee of the Medical Advisor Board, the Accreditation Board, and the Scientific Programs Committee. Dr. Kaufman has been the Medical Director and member of the Executive Board of the Cincinnati Eye Bank for 20 years. At the University of Cincinnati’s Department of Ophthalmology, Dr. Kaufman has been the Residency Program Director for 12 years and has served in multiple leadership positions. Dr. Kaufman is a reliable and conscientious contributor to the EBAA Board.
Candidate Statement
It has been a pleasure and a privilege to serve as the EBAA Secretary/Treasurer the past two years, and I would be honored to continue in this role. I bring to the board over 30 years of experience with the EBAA as a corneal surgeon. I have substantial finance experience through 11 years of experience on the EBAA Finance Committee and 20 years on the Executive Board of the Cincinnati Eye Bank. I have significant organizational and leadership skills which I have developed through my roles as Medical Director of the Cincinnati Eye Bank and Residency Program Director for the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Cincinnati. As Secretary/Treasurer and EBAA Board Member I will continue to diligently work as a solid representative of the eye banking community.
