Candidate Bio
Lisa Brooks is the Chief Operating Officer at VisionFirst and has worked in eye banking for more than 26 years. After beginning her career in the field shortly after graduating college, she has served in nearly every operational role within an eye bank, giving her broad experience across donor recovery, laboratory operations, quality systems, and organizational leadership.
Over the course of her career, Lisa has developed a strong operational perspective on the processes that support safe and effective tissue transplantation. She holds both CTBS and CEBT credentials, reflecting her long-standing commitment to professional standards and technical excellence.
Throughout her career, Lisa has been actively engaged with EBAA serving on the Quality Committee, Medical Advisory Board, and the Accreditation Board, where she served as Co-Chair, Co-Vice Chair, and Forms Committee Chair.
Candidate Statement
I am honored to be considered for a board position with the EBAA. I have spent over 26 years as an eye banker and currently serve as Chief Operating Officer at VisionFirst, where I oversee operations supporting the recovery, preparation, and distribution of tissue. Over that time, I’ve seen and worked the field from many perspectives, and it has reinforced how important it is that eye banks continue to work together as a community through the association.
I bring the perspective of someone who has spent much of her career focused on the operational side where policy decisions translate into real-world processes affecting eye banking. I am committed to serving as a collaborative, transparent, and proactive member of the Board, representing the interests of all members of the EBAA while contributing to the continued growth and impact of our field. I will work collaboratively with fellow Board members and stakeholders to help ensure eye banking remains strong, trusted, and well positioned to adapt to the challenges and opportunities eye banks face.
