Candidate Statement
We are at a pivotal time in our profession. Reflecting on the last two years of my role as Speaker of the House, I realize how important it is to find ways that bring people together. To unite us on the concepts that have been the cornerstones of eye banking for decades, and also to address the changes that are occurring all around us. We can’t turn our heads to change or bury our heads in the sand. It takes strength to stand up and make a difference. We, as an association must be that strength – together, for the future of our profession.
My natural ability to identify and understand different points of view allow me to be a liaison in situations and I have demonstrated this skill in the last two years. As the profession embarks on the unknown of the future, it will be more crucial than ever for the Speaker of the House to be a resource for our members. I strive to continue this in the role of Speaker of the House and build upon the strategic direction that will allow the association and the profession to move forward in a positive direction.
