Cameron Whittle is a cornea transplant recipient who was the “face” of Eye Donation Month 2019. In his own words, he reflects on the 10-year anniversary of his sight restoring transplant.
Celebrating 10 Years of the Gift of Sight
Hello, my name is Cameron Whittle. This year is the 10th anniversary of my cornea transplant.
My cornea transplant has opened up various opportunities that I wasn’t able to do before because of my declining vision. Some things I am doing now include making music and taking my photography/videography more seriously.
Because of the selfless decision by my cornea donor to give the gift of sight and with the support of AltruVision, I have been blessed with so many opportunities at life that wouldn’t have been possible prior to my transplant. One such ability is me being able to perform my music in front of my family and friends. Moments like this, I cherish forever.
I want to thank everyone that has been part of my journey from being the little boy who could barely see the biggest letter on the eye test, to a young man seeing the world, and now maturing into the adult man I am today.
Give the gift of sight to a grateful individual like Cameron; Register as an eye, organ, and tissue donor.
