Founded in 1961, the Eye Bank Association of America is the nation’s oldest transplant association. Our membership includes all of the eye banks in the United States, as well as a dozen international eye banks, plus hundreds of ophthalmologists and corneal surgeons. Together, our members represent the full continuum of care in cornea donation and transplantation, from donor to recipient.
We are guided in our mission to restore sight worldwide by governing documents that have been drafted and carefully refined to reflect the current state of the art in our profession and to anticipate the future needs of our members and the patients they serve.
EBAA also maintains the profession’s Medical Standards and Eye Banking Procedures Manual; these are available upon request. Eye bankers and physicians may access these documents in the members’ section of the website.
