EBAA is collecting session proposals for the 2027 Annual Meeting, June 10–12, 2027, in Austin, Texas. Please submit by October 16, 2026.
The meeting is being reimagined around sessions where attendees are participants rather than bystanders. The strongest proposals do two things:
- Give the audience an active role in the room
- Send attendees home with something they can use on Monday morning. Takeaways include items like a template, a checklist, a decision tool, or a policy they can adapt.
Submissions do not need to be fully built sessions or have a confirmed lineup of presenters. A clear problem, a credible approach, and a willingness to make it interactive is sufficient. If you have an idea and are not sure who should deliver it, submit anyway and tell us. We can help content leaders find the right voices to make a session successful.
Note: If you are interested in submitting a scientific abstract for the Scientific Symposium, the Call for Abstracts will launch in Fall 2026.
What We’re Looking for in 2027
Two things set a 2027 proposal apart from a traditional conference session.
Participation. We are moving away from panels of short individual presentations towards sessions where the audience participates — works a case, compares approaches at their table, practices a skill, weighs in on a hard call. Every proposal is asked how the audience factors in, and the answer carries weight in selection.
Takeaways. The best sessions produce something durable. A template someone can adapt. A checklist they can hand to their team. A decision tree for a call they have to make at 2 a.m. If your session already has materials behind it, say so. If they need to be created for this meeting, indicate that — we can help.
Not every session needs to be a workshop. Some content genuinely calls for an expert at a podium, and there is room for that. However, lectures should be the exception rather than the default.
Session Formats and Lengths
Session submissions are 30, 45, or 60 minutes. Choose a length and a format:
• Single presenter
• Two presenters in conversation
• Facilitated discussion or roundtable
• Hands-on workshop
• Case study or quick how-to
• Panel
Presentations will be scheduled as general sessions, concurrent sessions, or as a segment within a larger workshop track (Technical Skills, Donor Development and Communications, or Quality Assurance).
EBAA reserves the right to adjust the format or length of accepted proposals and may suggest combining related submissions. The form asks whether you are open to that. By saying yes, you allow the EBAA staff and planning committees to place a good idea rather than turn it down.

Requirements
Proposal should meet the following requirements:
- Presenters are expected to register for the meeting and cover their own registration fee unless otherwise approved. If cost is a barrier; tell us in the form — we would rather know early.
- Anyone listed as a confirmed presenter should have already agreed to participate. If you have not asked them yet, or you are suggesting a name, the form has an option for that.
- If your proposal is accepted, deadlines must be met. Missed deadlines may result in changes to the program.
- All session ideas should come through the proposal form. If you serve on a committee that has traditionally been tasked with creating sessions for the meeting, please route your initial ideas through this form.
