81% of patients with Plasminogen Deficiency Type 1 develop lesions on one or both eyes as their primary symptom, though lesions can form throughout the body on all organs with mucous membranes.
Kedrion relaunched RYPLAZIM®, the first and only FDA-approved treatment for plasminogen deficiency type 1 (PLGD-1), a rare genetic disorder affecting plasminogen production, often resulting in hard fibrous lesions on the moist tissue linings of mucous membranes and various organs.
Approximately 500 people in the U.S. are affected by PLGD-1, but the disorder is widely under-diagnosed, according to experts.
We are a biopharmaceutical company that collects and fractionates blood plasma to produce and distribute human plasma-derived medicinal products worldwide, used to treat and prevent rare and debilitating diseases and disorders.
