Courtney helped more than 200 people as a cornea, organ, and tissue donor. Although her main organs were unable to be donated, she was able to still give so much — corneas, heart valves, skin, tissue, and bones.
She was 21-years-old when she rear ended a semi truck and passed away instantly. Courtney had just earned her Associates degree for paralegal, and was working on her Bachelors degree. She had a bright future trying to become a lawyer and also had a strong passion for figure 8 racing. She was looked up to by so many little girls for her sense of style and distinctive purple glitter car. She was an intelligent, bright, young, and caring person.
Courtney is deeply missed by many, and her family encourages everyone to consider being an organ donor. They find it comforting knowing she lives on in so many people, including the two individuals who are now able to see thanks to her corneas.
Her loving sister says, “To think someone gets to see again thanks to her gorgeous brown eyes is simply heartwarming. I think everyone should look into being an organ donor and think of how many lives they can help and even save. It’s the most wonderful thing someone can do for someone else.”
