Candidate Bio
Kristen McCoy, MA, CEBT, CTBS, has over 26 years of eye bank experience and ten years of tissue bank experience. Kristen began her career as a Laboratory Technician and has grown with the industry, holding multiple leadership roles within two large eye banks. Kristen joined Miracles In Sight in 2019 and currently serves as the Vice President of Client Relations leading the Business Development and Professional Development teams. Kristen has served on numerous EBAA committees, including the Technician Education Committee, the Certification Board, the Research Committee, and the Medical Advisory Board. Kristen has served as faculty for the Technician Education Symposium and the Slit Lamp Microscopy course, training over 500 technicians domestically and internationally. Kristen is a Certified Eye Bank Technician (CEBT) and Certified Tissue Bank Specialist (CTBS). Kristen is a member of American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB), Women In Ophthalmology (WIO), the American Society of Ophthalmic Administrators (ASOA), and The Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO). Kristen earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Dayton and a Master of Health and Human Services Administration from St. Mary’s University in Minnesota.
Candidate Statement
I have been in eye banking for 26 years and in leadership roles in two large eye banks. Over the years, I have been active on many different committees within the EBAA. I have served on the Technician Education Committee and as faculty for the TES for 11 years. I have a passion for eye banking and its impact on individuals and communities. I want to continue to grow with the industry and get more involved with the strategy and direction of the association.
I believe that my experience in multiple leadership roles and being intricately involved in the Technician Education Committee has provided me with an understanding and a sense of the challenges facing eye banks and staff. I believe in collaboration, partnership, and working together toward a common goal. I strive to be authentic, honest, and transparent. I am dedicated to the eye banking industry, and I would like to bring my passion and energy to the board to represent and serve the association.
