At-Large Candidate: Tony Bavuso, CEBT

Tony Bavuso, CEBT

Saving Sight

Candidate Bio

Tony Bavuso, CEBT, is an experienced executive with a passion for leadership and helping others. As the CEO of Saving Sight, Tony finds fulfillment in the meaningful work of improving lives through sight restoration. He also has a professional interest in the area of leadership development and works with other leaders as an executive coach and facilitator. Outside of work, Tony enjoys flying airplanes and spending time outdoors with friends and family.

Candidate Statement

I have come to appreciate the value of a vocation that makes a difference, not to a group of investors or shareholders, but to the lives of people who cannot see well enough to enjoy many of the things I take for granted every day. There is something special about the work we do in eye banking that stands apart from the outside influences of the special interests we see in so many other areas of our society. The EBAA has played a central role in preserving the integrity of this unique work, and it is important that it continues to do so while also fostering new ways to expand the capabilities, reach and impact of eye banking. I do not have all the answers, but if I were to have the privilege of serving once again on the EBAA Board of Directors, I would do so with a spirit of collaboration and a focus on striving for innovation.
