Meeting Information

The Annual Meeting is going virtual! EBAA is bringing eye bank professionals and corneal surgeons together online for the eye banking event of the year. The virtual meeting will offer attendees the content and experience that you’ve come to expect while allowing participants to experience sessions in a new way with the flexibility to attend them from any place and at any time!

The meeting will be delivered in a blended format of live programming and on-demand sessions. The event features keynote speakers, interactive workshops, over 20 hours of educational content, governance meetings, networking opportunities, and some new and exciting components.

Our live sessions will be held June 18-20, live webinars on June 22-26, and on-demand presentations on a variety of topics.

Registration options are available for individuals or groups of eye bank staff, so you can find the right option for your needs.

Meeting Highlights

Keynote: Leading With an Eye To The Future With Innovation, Strategy and TeamWork

Speaker: Cheryl Cran, NextMapping

Eye banks are working and leading in unprecedented times. The rapid changes that are impacting our reality include COVID19, shifting landscape of competition and technology innovations. There is an opportunity to pivot, to shift and to be agile with all of the changes we are facing. In this virtual keynote with award winning future of work expert Cheryl Cran you will learn:

  • To shift perspectives on the changes and challenges we are facing into opportunities
  • Models on how to help yourself and your teams think more strategically
  • Tools and ideas on how to practice ‘real time’ innovation
  • Strategies to help our teams navigate the fast pace of change

In this virtual keynote, attendees will have the opportunity to participate through polling and texting and will be able to share insights before the session via survey.

Keynote: A Workshop with The Second City

Speakers: The Second City Performers and Musical Director
Thursday, June 18 at 1 PM EDT

Performers from the critically-acclaimed improvisational comedy enterprise, The Second City, will lead attendees in a dynamic virtual workshop enhanced by a musical accompaniment and some laughs. This live virtual keynote presentation will feature practical exercises and facilitated discussions, providing a crash course in improv as a tool for better collaboration and innovation.

Scientific Symposium Invited Session

Emerging Biotech Approaches that May Impact the Future of Corneal Transplantation 
Reza Dana, MD, MSc, MPH, Mass. Eye and Ear
June 20 at 12:45 pm EDT

Dr. Reza Dana will discuss various therapies being researched and tested as possible replacements for corneal transplantation. The speaker will highlight current research and present on how these therapies could impact the future of corneal transplantation.

Individual (Required to earn CEU or CME credit):

  • Eye Bankers: Includes individual access to all live sessions and on-demand programming.
  • Physicians: Includes individual access to all live sessions and on-demand programming, and eligibility to earn CME for select sessions. Intended for corneal surgeons, Medical Directors, Residents, and Cornea Fellows.

Eye Bank Group Pass (NEW!):
Eye banks may purchase a group pass for their organization. The group pass will allow a specific number of staff to attend the live events and an unlimited number of staff to access the sessions once they are available on-demand.

Passes are available for small, medium, and large eye banks, and the categories are based upon domestic corneas placed in 2019.

Note: CEUs and CME cannot be earned through the group pass.

Physician Registration: Includes individual access for physician registrants to all live sessions and on-demand programming, and eligibility to earn CME for select sessions. Intended for corneal surgeons, Medical Directors, Residents, and Cornea Fellows. Note: If a Medical Director needs to attend the Medical Advisory Board (MAB) or Medical Directors Symposium to satisfy the eye bank’s accreditation status, the Medical Director must register as a physician registration.
